5 Instagram buys I am obsessed with
Gone were the days when we window shopping at the malls, now most people do their shopping on ta-da – the all mighty Instagram. I scroll through my feed whenever I feel I need a bit of indulgence or self-love (#treatyoself). So, here’s a round-up of the top five instagram buys that I am so glad instagram made me buy.

What: Dior Lip Glow in 001 Pink Glow
Who: Karolina Kristina
Why: Even though I’m a proud experimentalist of every eye makeup look I can find on the internet, I am very particular about my lip makeup choice. I simply can’t tolerate the feeling of lipstick, so the only thing I wear on lips is a tinted lip balm. My friend, Karolina inspired this buy as she raved about the Dior lip tint non-stop, even on her own Instagram a couple of times. Another lovely lady I follow, Joelle Hyman also swore by the Lip Glow on her Instagram stories. It finishes with a “your lips but better” sheen and it smells like vanilla.

What: amika mini flash fix straightening brush
Who: Shermeen
Why: I am always all thumbs when it comes to hot tools styling. I simply couldn’t do it! Until amika launched their flash fix straightening brush, everything changed. I never imagined straightening out my frizzy hair could be as easy as brushing my hair (literally). So when this baby brush came out and in my fave peachy color, I was floored. With so many good reviews from all over Instagram, including Shermeen (my fave beauty collector), who talked so many wonderful things about the brush. That was when I knew I NEED it. It locks in moisture while taming my once unmanageable frizzy locks, now I can’t travel without this hair essential.

What: Glossier Play Colorslide Eyeliner
Who: Martina
Why: It’s always wise not to buy into the hype, and that’s why I avoided buying anything from Glossier Play for a long time. My eyes are oddly huge and wearing eyeliner would magnify them infinitely and make me look like a quirky bug. HOWEVER, my babe Martina slayed look after look with the Glossier Play colorslide Eyeliner (it’s a more affordable version of Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliners), so I got to give a try and bought the colors Nectar, Early Girl, Critical Mass and Candyland. Now they’re my signature everyday look.

What: Hair clips
Who: Mostly Sharmili but also everyone who posted about 90’s hair clips out of nowhere all at once I mean how the heck do trends even work???
Why: As I’ve been trying more style on my hair recently, I’m digging this super cute 90’s-esque hair clips trend. I like how my curly hair looks with the acrylic or pearl hair clips. And if I haven’t washed my hair in 5 days, I simply slick my hair back and the clips do wonders for the whole look. Because of my very short hair, it’s impossible to wear it up, this trend is the perfect way to add a little somethin’ special to my usually plain hair.

What: Touch Me Soft Hold Hair Spray
Who: Cathine OY Chan
Why: As I mentioned before I have short hair, so my latest follow – Cathine (who also has super short hair + superb personal style) gives me tons of inspo on how to style our short cut. I’m a great fan of texturized hair and am constantly in search of the perfect spray that holds but without the crunchy hard feel. Cathine’s recommendation of amika Touch Me Soft Hold Hair Spray did not disappoint. The spray is super moldable, lasts the whole day and surprisingly gives me extra volume that other holding sprays are not capable of. Plus, it smells great! I’m so going to repurchase it.
